ארגון חמאס ניצל את זכייתה של נאבי פילאי בפרס נובל לשלום כדי להעלות מחדש דרישות משפטיות בינלאומיות נגד מנהיגים ישראליים בגין האשמות ברצח עם ברצועת עזה, בהתבסס על ממצאי ועדת החקירה שבראשה היא עומדת. פילאי עצמה הצהירה כי הפרות ישראל בעזה מהוות רצח עם ודרשה להגן על בית הדין הפלילי הבינלאומי.
