ארצות הברית הטילה סנקציות מקיפות על מספר ישויות ואישים בינלאומיים בגין תמיכה במשטר האיראני. הצעדים כוללים סנקציות נגד רשת רכש של טילי כתף ומערכות הגנה אווירית (MANPADS) מתוצרת סין, המערבת גורמים ברוסיה, סין, ניגריה, הודו וטורקיה, לצד רישומי ספינות פיקטיביים ותמיכה בתעופה האיראנית.
