סעודיה ואיחוד האמירויות פועלות ליישור ההדורים ולשיפור התיאום הצבאי ביניהן על מנת לבלום את המתקפה הצבאית המתמשכת של המורדים החות'ים בתימן, המאיימת על ביטחון שתי המדינות. שר ההגנה הסעודי נפגש בריאד עם סגן נשיא איחוד האמירויות לדיון בדרכים לחיזוק שיתוף הפעולה הצבאי.
