תוצאות הבחירות הסופיות בישראל מקבעות מצב של מבוי סתום פוליטי, כאשר גוש נתניהו מוביל אך ללא רוב של 61 חברי כנסת, בעוד המפלגות הערביות רושמות הישג משמעותי. הליכוד ונתניהו העלו טענות לפיהן הבחירות "נגנבו" באמצעות מימון זר למפלגות הערביות. בעקבות כך, ועדת הבחירות המרכזית פנתה לשב"כ, והמוסד הצטרף לחקירת החשדות להתערבות זרה. דובר משרד החוץ של קטאר דחה בתוקף את ההאשמות וטען כי פוליטיקאים ישראלים משתמשים בדוחה כשעיר לעזאזל לכישלונותיהם.
